OmniMD's electronic Lab Order Integration saves up to 15 minutes of
staff and lab technician time for each order, starting from creating
requisition to receiving results and filing them.
As a step towards complete automation, OmniMD provides a lab
order entry interface for entering lab results into patient records.
The system ensures a coordinated effort between the medical practice
and laboratory, providing quality patient service and care. Using
the lab integration module, providers can order lab tests directly
from the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. When results are
ready, they are directly imported to the OmniMD lab module and
an alert is sent to the provider this helps in taking proactive
actions much earlier than conventional clinical procedures.
Efficient Lab Interaction: Providers can order patient tests directly from the tablet or pocket PC
to the lab, for fast processing and immediate action. Test results are
directly transmitted from the lab to be attached to the patient record
in the EMR system. This reduces the coordination time and effort
between the provider and the lab and offers a complete workflow to
manage lab orders from requisition to reports.
Reduced Administrative Tasks: The provider does not need to make repeated telephone calls or have meetings
with lab personnel. There is no burden of data entry into the patient's electronic medical record (EMR) because the results are automatically
entered into the system. Electronic cataloging of lab orders and results
in the patient’s EMR streamline the administrative functions in lab order management.
Flexible Lab Results Integration: For added flexibility, results can be transmitted via fax, or scanned,
for integration with the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). OmniMD supports
laboratory interfaces with both Quest and LabCorp. The provider can directly
order patient tests at these labs for immediate action and fast processing.
